Last August, we shared the good news about TCBY introducing “the first ever national dairy-free, almond milk-based frozen yogurt option.” More than 400 locations from coast to coast started dishing out the decadent Chocolate Almond flavor for a 12-week trial, and it was met with such incredible success, some stores could barely keep up with the demand.
This vegan option has been so popular that the largest US retailer of soft-serve is expanding its options and responding to customer requests for more flavors. In fact, as part of its announcement of the new flavor — dairy-free Vanilla Almond — a cover photo on TCBY’s Facebook page boasts: “You asked. We listened.”
This classic flavor is the perfect complement to the decadent chocolate, and as a bonus, both are dairy-, gluten-, and soy-free so that allergen-conscious consumers can enjoy fro-yo to their heart’s content. Combine both vegan flavors and top it off with nuts, berries, coconut, and peanut butter for a truly tasty treat!
TBCY’s decision to offer more vegan options is yet another testament to the power of consumer demand. Recent examples include Domino’s Pizza adding of a vegan cheese option in Israel and Subway dishing out falafel in dozens of DC-area stores.
