As a growing number of Americans, especially today’s younger generations, are ditching dairy, the food industry is responding by serving up more plant-based options. Case in point: TCBY (The Country’s Best Yogurt) just announced its partnership with Silk to introduce “the first ever national almondmilk-based dairy-free frozen yogurt option.”
TCBY is the largest US retailer of soft-serve frozen yogurt – and it’s now dishing out a new non-dairy Silk Chocolate Almond frozen yogurt in all of its more than 400 locations nationwide. It’s vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free! Plus, TCBY let’s you add your own toppings, such as raspberries, coconut, or peanut butter.
You’ll also find several dairy-free sorbet options on TCBY’s menu, though recognizing the increase in demand for dairy-free foods, the company wanted to create something more “indulgent.”
Dustin Finkel, senior director for TCBY’s parent company Famous Brands International, says “We created a flavor that’s not only going to be attractive to the alternative-dairy crowd, but with our average consumer, as well.”
According to QSR magazine, this non-dairy frozen yogurt will be available for at least 12 weeks but TCBY has yet to determine if it’ll continue offering it after this initial run or if new flavors will become available.
