COK’s 30-Second Ad Serves A Side of Truth: What Viewers are Saying

Written by Erica Meier

LA Side of Truthast month, we launched our ambitious Fall 2011 Pro-Vegetarian Commercial Campaign blanketing the national airwaves on MTV, Comedy Central, and Animal Planet with a powerful message of compassion.

Imagine if fast food restaurants offered diners a side of truth with every meal—truth about where their meat, eggs, and dairy products really come from. That’s exactly what happens in COK’s award-winning 30-second commercial—“A Side of Truth”—that is currently reaching millions of viewers coast to coast, thanks to the generosity of our supporters.

And the response from viewers has been phenomenal!  Here is just some of the feedback we’ve recently received:

When I saw your commercial on TV, I knew right away that I couldn’t stomach the
idea of eating meat again, but I didn’t realize just how easy it was going to be. It’s only been ten days but I feel so much better – mentally and physically. Thank you for helping me make this change in my life.

I saw your commercial, visited your website, and it has all really opened my eyes. After watching some of your undercover investigative footage on your site, I can’t stop crying.  I don’t even want to open my refrigerator because I have chicken, eggs, milk, fish and I feel horrible. How can such cruelty be allowed? How did I not know this was going on? I’m committing to going vegan, as I write this email to you. I can’t thank you enough and I hope there is something I can do to help more people see the truth about how farm animals are treated.

My brother saw your ad on TV and went to your website because he didn’t believe you about the farms you showed. That’s how I saw your ad. We both searched around your site for a while and were totally shocked to see animals treated like that. It made me want to cry. I’m only 13 (my brother is 17) but we’re both now vegetarian and trying to convince our parents to let us go vegan.
